Proposal Design | Community Integration | Sports Architecture
Built-up Area: 2,500 sqm
Located in the heart of Rainbow Street, one of Amman’s most beloved historical and touristic destinations, this proposed Taekwondo Federation Training Center offers a modern yet respectful architectural intervention. The design balances athletic functionality with cultural sensitivity, creating a dynamic space for professional training and community engagement.
Collaboration & Vision Alignment
This project was developed in close collaboration with HRH Princess Zeina Al Rashed, Vice President of the Federation. The design reflects the Federation’s vision for a facility that not only promotes the sport of taekwondo but also strengthens the bond between sport and society.

Architectural Concept & Materiality
Emphasizing contextual integration and durability, the architecture is defined by exposed concrete massing used both externally and internally, ensuring material honesty and minimal maintenance.
Key design elements include:
- Extruded Concrete Window Frames – Provide passive shading and rhythm while reducing solar gain.
- Green Terraces – Enhance sustainability and aesthetics through the use of planted terraces that soften the concrete form.
- Wooden Interior Finishes – Applied to doors and selected wall cladding to absorb sound and warm the space, improving acoustics and ambiance.
- Sustainable Interventions – Subtle ecological gestures, such as shaded terraces and solar-ready roofs, support environmental goals.
