"Home of the Falcons" is a groundbreaking architectural vision designed in collaboration with the Jordan Basketball Federation. The project represents a bold step toward developing a state-of-the-art sports infrastructure, with the Federation submitting the design as a formal proposal to the Jordanian government.

At its core, the project envisions a 4,000-seat arena spanning a 20,000-square-meter footprint, with the flexibility to expand to 5,000 seats for conferences and large-scale events. The arena forms the centerpiece of a larger integrated sports complex that includes indoor and outdoor courts, a public park, and ample parking facilities.

Architectural Program

The complex consists of two primary structures:

  • A steel-structured building housing the main multipurpose hall, with a dramatic ceiling height of 22 meters, accommodating professional basketball games and major events.
  • A traditional construction building hosting the offices and arena support services, seamlessly integrated into the site’s topography and user flow.
Design Inspiration

The architectural identity of the project draws from the nickname of the Jordanian national basketball team—The Falcons—symbolizing strength, pride, and resilience. The façade design is a direct homage to falcon wing patterns, capturing their elegance and aerodynamic grace.

Adorned with polycarbonate plastic sheets and LEXAN fabrication, the façade mimics the delicate feather patterns of the falcon. These translucent layers cast intricate shadows, delivering both aesthetic richness and functional shading to the office spaces behind, while preserving uninterrupted exterior views.

PV Pergola
A Bold, Sustainable Vision

The design’s massing is bold and dynamic, projecting power and movement in harmony with the project’s inspiration. Atop the main court hall, the roof is covered with thousands of solar panels, including a custom-designed canopy that shades the rooftop 3x3 basketball courts. This integration of photovoltaic technology not only advances the project’s sustainability goals by generating clean energy, but also strengthens the venue’s architectural identity, making it a landmark of innovation and environmental responsibility in Jordan.

Spectator Experience & Public Flow

Spectators can access the arena through either the ground or first floor:

  • The ground floor concourse includes the Falcon Store, a gaming hub, and a retail zone, all arranged around a grand central lobby designed to handle high foot traffic during peak events.
  • Escalators at both ends of the building lead to the first-floor concourse, which offers restaurants, kiosks, and public gathering spaces, creating an engaging, multi-level fan experience.
Flexible Seating & Court Configuration

The arena’s seating design reflects its multipurpose functionality:

  • The upper tier features fixed seating for permanent audience capacity.
  • The lower tier uses retractable seating, which, when folded, opens up the hall to host three side-by-side training courts, separated by curtains—allowing simultaneous training sessions for at least three teams.
Integrated Systems & Technical Design

The training courts are equipped with advanced lighting systems that clearly delineate court boundaries. Overhead, the 22-meter-high roof structure supports:

  • Professional-grade lighting
  • Surround sound systems
  • Broadcast camera rigs
  • HVAC ductwork integrated discreetly above the courts
Event Transformation & Expandability

During official matches, the retractable seats extend to create a 4,000-seat arena, including VIP courtside seats and team benches. The arena also incorporates a hydraulic stage system that allows for rapid transformation into a world-class event hall for conferences, performances, and other large-scale events, expanding its capacity to 5,000 seats.

The Court
World-Class Technology & Immersive Experience

The arena is equipped with some of the largest indoor screens globally, mounted at a height of 14 meters. These high-definition displays provide immersive visuals, live game statistics, and real-time data comparisons, delivering an extraordinary spectator experience from every angle.

Strict adherence to the latest FIBA standards is evident throughout the facility. The project integrates:

  • Advanced audiovisual systems
  • High-performance control rooms
  • Professional multi-angle broadcasting equipment
  • Live replay systems
  • A live commentary studio located within the arena
  • Dedicated spaces for DJs and media professionals
VIP, Sponsor & Hospitality Areas

The arena layout reflects a deep understanding of brand partnerships and hospitality:

  • A dedicated sponsor zone promotes partner brands in curated exhibition areas.
  • At the center of the court and its highest vantage point, premium VIP terraces provide Union supporters and key clients with world-class hospitality.
  • One arena corner features a fully equipped broadcast gallery, while the opposite corner houses a cutting-edge E-sports center for national teams. Glass partitions surround both areas, ensuring visual transparency and unique panoramic views of the arena.

A private entrance leads directly to the Sponsor Lounge, which includes:

  • A luxurious royal suite
  • A dedicated fine-dining restaurant for VIP guests to socialize and network before and during events

Additionally, special media seating zones are strategically distributed throughout the crowd, maintaining full immersion in the atmosphere while ensuring top-tier reporting and coverage.

Athlete-First Facilities

Beneath the main arena, the basement level is dedicated to elite player preparation. Facilities include:

  • Luxurious locker rooms designed specifically for the Jordanian national team – The Falcons

On-Site Accommodation for Teams

The third floor features a hotel-style accommodation zone with rooms designed to host at least two national teams concurrently. These spaces support training camps, tournament preparation, and intensive development programs, all within the secure and inspiring environment of the Falcons House.
