This 200-room hotel, currently under design, is the first of its kind in Jordan positioned directly on the shoreline of the Red Sea in Aqaba.
With the sea just meters away, guests will enjoy a unique experience where they can watch the waves move from the comfort of their beds, fully immersed in the natural beauty of the coast.
Designing on the edge of the sea came with both opportunity and responsibility, we worked closely with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) to meet all environmental, zoning, and coastal development regulations, their collaboration was essential in shaping a design that respects the natural shoreline while supporting Aqaba’s identity as a growing tourism hub.
Architecturally, the project takes inspiration from global hospitality references, material honesty, minimalism, and a strong connection to nature define the guest experience, the hotel’s bold massing is defined by exposed concrete, softened with a palette of warm grays, WPC wood cladding is used on ceilings and balcony rails, combining durability with warmth.
Every room opens to the sea through expansive terraces, while rooftop greenery and planted balconies help break the mass and visually soften the transition between the building and its stark surroundings of sand and mountains, these green elements also enhance environmental performance and comfort.
At night, the building becomes a beacon along the coast, a dynamic lighting scheme activates the façade, creating an interactive visual experience for people on passing boats and along the shoreline, making the hotel a landmark from both land and sea.
This project redefines hospitality in Jordan by merging coastal architecture, modern materiality, and site-sensitive design into a destination that celebrates both the landscape and the experience of the traveler.
